Our beautiful Killara centre is located in Lady Game Drive, providing easy access for families. Renovated from an existing house with a long history in the area, is our purpose built, air-conditioned, 5 room Early Education Centre.
In respecting the history of the home, we have kept the stunning hardwood floors throughout. The house was first built by a Naval Family so we thought it only fitting for a large boat to sit within our extensive playscape. With a centre bus onsite, we are able to ensure the children extend their learning into the community.
Hi, I’m Raj Sangha, the centre manager here at Little GAINTS Killara
I have always been passionate about helping children. By focusing on early childhood education throughout university, I quickly learnt that a career as an early childhood educator would allow me to help foster children’s curiosity about the world around them. I love being involved with establishing the base for the children who will become the leaders of tomorrow.
I’ve been working in the early childhood industry for the past 12 years. During this time, my career has progressed from being a casual educator through to becoming an early childhood teacher, followed by establishing myself as the Centre Director. Throughout my career, I have been lucky to be surrounded by likeminded mentors who have continued to support my passion and development as an educator. Inspired by my teachers, I am dedicating to supporting my staff and mentoring them through their roles.
At Little GAINTS Killara, we are a 92-place centre catering for children from birth to school age. We believe in working closely with the community and encouraging children to participate in a wide range of activities. Our beautiful purpose-built centre offers so many fun, educational activities for the children to enjoy – for example, they can join our Forest School where they learn carpentry, fire pit storytelling and engage in mud play. We believe children learn best through play and promote this through all age groups including our School Readiness Program. The dedicated staff here follow four core values: optimism, love, patience and empathy.
When I’m not busy at the Centre, I love spending time outdoors, playing casual soccer and thrill seeking (bungee jumping, anyone?). I’m also fluent in Punjabi and while I was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, I really love learning more about my culture and background.
